Thieves Stealing Checks From Mailboxes: Woodbridge Police

WOODBRIDGE, CT — Police have issued a warning to residents regarding thieves stealing business and personal checks from the mailboxes of local residents as well as from standalone USPS mailboxes.

The stolen checks are then fraudulently altered and cashed for large sums of money, according to police.

The Woodbridge Police Department is working in collaboration with the United States Postal Inspector’s Office to investigate and combat these offenses.
