Upgraded Charges Likely Against Driver Who Killed Bethany Teen

The Cheshire woman will likely face manslaughter charges in the future.

A motorist accused of drunkenly hitting and killing a Bethany teen on Christmas night will likely face manslaughter charges once accident reconstruction is complete.

Barbara Ross, 60, of Chesire was driving in Bethany on Rt. 69 when she struck Robert “Bobby” Weidig Jr., 18, of Bethany. He was walking to a local music and dance event, according to Fox 61.

New Haven Assistant State’s Attorney Michael Denison said in court Thursday that Ross’ charges will likely be upgraded once accident reconstruction is complete.

She is currently charged with DUI and failure to maintain proper lane.
