Wanted Man Caught Stealing Car Battery In Woodbridge: Police
Police responded to a report of a suspicious man on a bicycle looking into people's yards.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A New Haven man who was wanted on a warrant in West Haven was caught stealing a battery out of a vehicle in Woodbridge earlier this week, according to police. At about 10:30 a.m. on June 25, Woodbridge Police responded to the area of Manila Avenue on the report of a suspicious man on a bicycle looking into residents’ yards.
Responding officers located Leonard Flynn, 57, of New Haven, operating his bicycle on Bradley Road and he matched the description of the suspicious man, according to police. Flynn was also found to have a vehicle battery attached to the rear of his bicycle, police said.
During the investigation, police found that Flynn had an outstanding arrest warrant out of West Haven and was in the possession of drug paraphernalia. Before being turned over to West Haven Police, Flynn was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was assigned a court date of July 6.

Later in the day, a resident on Bradley Road in Woodbridge reported that their vehicle was broken into and the battery had been stolen. Police said the resident also had security camera footage that showed Flynn entering the property where the battery was stolen.
Flynn was additionally charged by Woodbridge Police with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespass and sixth-degree larceny. He is scheduled to be arraigned July 6 in New Haven Superior Court.
