Woodbridge residents and members of the West River Watershed Coalition took a weekend hike through West Rock to look at options for connecting the West River Trail between Bradley Road in Woodbridge and Pond Lily Avenue in New Haven.
The exploratory hike was part of a larger goal of making the West River more accessible and to connect parks and greenspaces among the West River’s watershed municipalities of Woodbridge, Bethany, New Haven, Hamden and West Haven.
Woodbridge Trailmaster Mike Walter led 15 people on the hike. First Selectman Ellen Scalettar joined the hike with West River Mitigation and Restoration Committee Chairman and Woodbridge resident Frank DeLeo and committee member and Town Clerk Stephanie Ciarleglio.
