Woodbridge Cops: 13 & 14-Year-Old Boys Charged In Car Theft, Crash

West Haven boy, 13, and New Haven boy, 14, fled, were later caught, after a stolen car they were driving was involved in a crash, cops said.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — Late Wednesday night, Woodbridge police were called to a report of a rollover crash involving two vehicles. It turned out that one of the cars was reported as stolen in North Haven, according to Woodbridge police Sgt. A.J. Cappiello.

At 11:30 p.m., cops went to the intersection of Litchfield Turnpike, Rt. 69, and Bradley Road for an accident. They found that the driver of the "at-fault vehicle" took off on foot, Cappiello said. After a search of the area, and with the help of a Milford Police Department K9 Unit, Woodbridge cops officers took two juveniles into custody.

Both juveniles, age 14 from West Haven and age 13 from New Haven, were charged with conspiracy to commit larceny of a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit evading responsibility and other associated motor vehicle offenses.

They are scheduled to appear in New Haven Juvenile Court, Nov. 15.
