Woodbridge Library and Long Wharf partner

The Woodbridge Library and Long Wharf Theater hold three events around one play.

The Woodbridge Town Library announces a partnership with Long Wharf Theatre in conjunction with the upcoming play Picasso at the Lapin Agile, written by Steve Martin and directed by Gordon Edelstein. The play will run from November 26 through December 21, 2014 on the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck Mainstage Theatre at Long Wharf. The library will hold three events around the play that will allow patrons to become acquainted with it, discuss it, and even see it live.

What happens when Picasso and Einstein walk into a bar? Intellectual fireworks, verbal gymnastics, amorous intentions, and the arrival of a mysterious man in blue suede shoes. On an October evening in 1904, Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso end up at the same small bar in Paris - the Lapin Agile. The two young geniuses, joined by an eccentric cast of characters, spar over art and science, their respective libidos, where inspiration comes from, and the promise and dreams of the 20th century.

On Thursday, November 13 at 7pm the library will host actors from Long Wharf’s production who will perform a scene from the play followed by a discussion with Performance Director Gordon Edelstein. NOTE: This event will be held at the Center Gym, 4 Meetinghouse Lane. Please register for this event by calling 203-389-3433 or click here.
