Woodbridge Man, 36, In 1-Car Crash Faces Gun Charges: Police

WOODBRIDGE, CT — A 35-year-old Woodbridge man is facing gun charges following a single car crash Sunday, police said.

While investigating the late afternoon accident on Baldwin Road, Woodbridge police said they found a loaded semi-automatic handgun inside the man's car, authorities said.

Joseph A. Martino, 36, who police said does not have a valid Connecticut pistol permit, was charged illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, both felonies, and failure to drive in proper lane.

Released on $5,000 bond, court records show, Martino is due back in court March 10.
