Woodbridge Nursing Home Fined by State

The state Department of Health said a patient broke their leg while in the care of The Willows.

Woodbridge, CT - The Willows nursing home in Woodbridge was fined more than $1,600 by state regulators because a patient broke their leg while at the facility.

Connecticut Health I-Team reports that the fine was the result of a patient falling out of a wheelchair in July 2015. The Willows is owned by Genesis HealthCare.

Reporter Kate Farrish writes that the patient broke their leg after a nurse's aide turned away while the patient was trying to stand, according to the state Department of Health.
