Woodbridge Police Warn Residents On Uptick In Motor Vehicle Thefts
Police are warning the public following an uptick in motor vehicle thefts and from motor vehicles.
WOODBRIDGE, CT — Police are warning the public following an uptick in motor vehicle thefts and from motor vehicles. Police said the increase applies to Woodbridge and surrounding communities both during the day and overnight.
Police issued the following reminders:
- Lock your vehicle when not in use – even in your driveway.
- Secure the keys and ignition fobs.
- Do not leave running vehicles unattended.
- Do not leave valuables in plain sight.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
If you see suspicious people, vehicles, or activity, call 911.

Police wrote in a Facebook post: "Although we continue to investigate these incidents as reported and remain proactive with deterrent patrols, the assistance of all is requested to reduce these crimes of opportunity. #9PMRoutine"
