1st Annual Charity Poker Run In Honor of John "JP" Lear JR

On May 8th 2018 Branford lost an amazing member of the community: John Lear. You may know him the local business owner of European Specialists and Tire Express, as a loving father of BHS alumni Kellee and Danny, a member of the Branford Rotary and Elks Club, or just as an amazing friend and person.
Help us honor his memory in the 1st annual charity poker run. All proceeds to support local charities such as the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter and BHS Performing Arts.

If you are unfamiliar with what exactly a "Poker Run" is, it is a ride throughout town to John's favorite bars and restaurants. These events are traditionally done on motorcycles, but we are opening up the event to all vehicles. Registration will begin at The Elm Cafe where you can check in, get your wristband and card. Then at 11am the group will take a "Joy ride" through town to Top Shelf in North Haven. From there we will head back to Branford and stop at the Thimble Islands Brewery and then the Stand. Finally, we will end with a party/celebration at European Specialists where there will be food, music, entertainment, a raffle and more. At each of the 5 stops, you draw a card. At the end of the route, whoever has the best poker hand wins a cash prize!

Whether you want an excuse to show off your Hog or car, or just want to support two amazing causes, this event is going to be a blast!

If you are not going to be in town, don't worry, you can still purchase a ticket! With every ticket purchased, you will be entered into a raffle for a cash prize. Winner does NOT need to be present.
