Mary Skotnicki, 92

In Branford, January 30, 2011, Mary Skotnicki of Branford.

She was the wife of the late Raymond Skotnicki. She is the mother of Sue Ellen Sullivan (husband Tim) of Branford. She is the sister of Gertrude Conroy of Middletown, Evelyn Moody of Branford, Shirley St. Laurent of East Windsor, George Milliot of East Hampton, and Ward Milliot (wife Joyce) of Haughton, Louisiana. She is the grandmother of Charlene Barnes (husband John), Sheryl Newton, Tracey Newton, Lisa Morris, Susan Kuhn, Garrett Sullivan (wife Rebecca), and Patrick Sullivan. She was the great-grandmother of Michael Newton, Christopher and Bradley Barlow, and Jessica and Samantha Morris. She was predeceased by her daughter Barbara Jean Skotnicki and her sister Elizabeth Gunning.

Mrs. Skotnicki was born in New Hartford on June 17, 1918, a daughter of Ward and Agnes O'Hara Milliot. She grew up in Hartford and resided in Branford since the 1940's. During World War II, she was an Airplane Spotter at Branford Point. Her family wishes to thank the VNA Community Health Care; the Almost Family Agency; the Area Agency on Aging of South Central CT; and CT Hospice.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11:00 at St. Mary Church in Branford. Burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10004, or to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, 749 East Main St. Branford, CT 06405
