Another Coronavirus Case In Branford Schools Brings Count to 15
"In recent days we have experienced an increase in reported COVID (positive) cases," schools superintendent Hamlet Hernandez said.
BRANFORD, CT — There are now 15 COVID-19 cases in Branford schools.
"In recent days we have experienced an increase in reported COVID (positive) cases," schools superintendent Hamlet Hernandez said in a message to families.
The latest is a positive case at Walsh Intermediate School.

Not unlike the boilerplate for all positive case announcements, Hernandez said contract tracing has been done, the sick person must isolate at home for 10 days and close contacts have been told to quarantine for two weeks.
And, Hernandez said that after speaking with East Shore District Health Department, it's been decided that "there is no reason to close school or cancel in-person classes due to the sufficiency of the District’s current cleaning protocols and mitigation measures."

Nearby, in East Haven, 26 have tested positive, more than 200 are in quarantine, and an elementary school has closed.
Branford like Guilford and Madison, the latter of which now has 12 cases, both opted for a hybrid learning model. East Haven chose full in person.
