BRANFORD, CT — Kristin Geenty, President of The Geenty Group, Realtors-Commercial Real Estate in Branford, represented Tangen BioSciences, Incorporated in the multi-year lease of 16,200 square feet of space in Branford. The Landlord, 20 Commercial Associates, LLC was represented by Fred Petrella of Connecticut Realty Group.

Tangen approached Geenty during Q1 2019 seeking help in quickly locating a larger bioscience facility in advance of the company bringing a new diagnostic product to market. The system, TangenDx, "quickly & inexpensively tests for infectious diseases like Anthrax at the molecular level, without the need for a lab," officials say.

As such, the company required a space that would accommodate laboratory, a clean room, as well as engineering, assembly and additional offices.

After developing a slate of possibilities in Branford and New Haven, no facility with existing lab space suitable for biotech was found to fit the bill, so, it was determined that leasing raw space was the best option. Tangen worked with the landlord to design, build and equip a new facility.

The company held a grand opening on August 29 completing a search, retrofit and move in less than 9 months after their initial contact with Geenty.
