Branford Baseball Star Mike Olt, And His Mother, Make A Comeback: Report

BRANFORD, CT — Both Mike Olt, a former Branford and UConn star who recently signed with the Boston Red Sox, and his mother, Beverly, are making comebacks.

The Boston Herald reports that Olt is at spring training coming back from various injuries, while his mother is on the mend from a brain aneurysm she suffered last year. She temporarily lost the ability to speak but has since regained it.

Olt is expected to begin the season in the minors, but he tells the Herald that his hard work to get to the majors is nothing compared to what his mother is going through, which has brought the family closer together.
