Branford Fire Chief's Last Day on the Job
Jack Ahern says he feels blessed to have worked for the town for 35 years.

Today is the last day on the job for Branford’s Fire Chief Jack Ahern, and here is his departing message.
“Today is my last day at the Branford Fire Dept. For 35 years I have been blessed with not having a “job,” I didn’t go to work everyday, I went to a place I loved and for some reason they paid me.
I have many to thank but most of all my family for their love and my second family for their dedication to their profession. To the entire Town of Branford I thank you for your support and I’m confident that you will continue to enjoy the best fire protection and emergency medical services that any Town could provide.

I am now taking a job in the private sector and will still be closely connected to public safety entities. I look forward to this new chapter and will miss each and everyone of you. To the firefighter’s of Branford, there is nothing more important to me than your safety and your safe return to your family each day, please be safe and continue to make the Branford Fire Department the best it can be.”
Thank you,
Jack Ahern
