BHS to present Les Miserables March 18th through March 22, 2015. Call 203-315-7998 x 2500 for details.

The Branford High School Performing Arts Department has announced that the 2015 Spring Musical is Les Miserables! They will be performing the Student Edition which simply means there can be no professionals in the cast. This edition of the musical was performed at Branford 12 years ago to great acclaim. Known as Les Miz, the show is based on the novel, Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. Set in early 19th century France, it is the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his quest for redemption after serving 19 years in prison for having stolen a loaf of bread for his sister’s starving child.
When it opened in 1987, it won 8 Tony Awards including best musical, best original musical score, best actor, best actress, and best director. One of the all-time favorite Broadway musicals, Les Miserables is set in a time of despair and revolution, but the music will lift you up and, once more, our belief in hope, perseverance, and of course love, prevails. Trust us; you will not want to miss this exciting show!
Les Miz will be presented March 18th through March 22nd in the high school auditorium. There will be a one day advance public ticket sale on Saturday, December 13th between 9AM and noon at the high school. Call the box office at 203-315-7998 x2500 for details.
