Branford Police Lt. Corrianne Carangelo Is Harvard Alum After Completing Highly Selective, Intensive Program

BRANFORD, CT — Lieutenant Corrianne Carangelo of the Branford Police Department can now add Harvard alumni to her résumé.

Carangelo recently completed the Leadership Decision-Making program through Harvard University’s Kennedy School-Executive Education, as part of the first official graduating Class of 2026, police proudly announced on Facebook.

"This highly selective and intensive program brought together state and federal government leaders from around the world, creating a global cohort focused on strengthening judgment, leadership effectiveness, and decision quality in complex, high-stakes environments," police wrote.

The program emphasized hands-on learning grounded in behavioral science, equipping participants with empirically proven tools that would help to:

Recognize and reduce decision-making biases; Communicate risk accurately and effectively; Improve forecasting, including low-probability, high-impact events; Understand the role of emotion in judgment and leadership; Design smart accountability systems; and, Gain support for critical decisions.

"Reflecting on the experience, Lt. Carangelo shared that collaborating with such a high-caliber group of brilliant leaders— learning new concepts, sharing experiences, preparing strategies, and increasing self-awareness—was both humbling and deeply rewarding," police said. "She looks forward to translating these insights into meaningful, positive contributions at the Branford Police Department and in service to the Branford community."
