Is Branford ready for a Civic String Orchestra?
A Proposal to Branford and nearby towns for the beginning foundation of a Branford Civic String Orchestra

I have lived in Branford for half of my life and for 19 years, from 1985 – 2005, I started and developed the String Orchestra program in Branford. I taught as a Strings Teacher for the Branford Board of Education, grades 3 -8, and I helped high school age students that were involved in the Branford Musical Broadway shows.

I am inviting anyone who participated during those years and anyone else interested to start the foundation of a The Branford Strings Orchestra. My goal is to have a Branford Civic Symphonic Orchestra. With so many residents with musical skills, I believe that we could build a fine musical organization.

In addition to the Viola, Violin, Cello and Bass String family, I would like to include
Percussion, Keyboards, Guitars, and instruments from other ethnic cultures, such as, mandolin, hammer dulcimer, and ukulele.

If you are interested in instruction for violin, viola, cello, and bass Viol or any of the instruments mentioned above, I would recommend private teachers to you who are already in music school programs in our area, as well as independent instrumental teachers like myself.
The following instruments that I teach:
Trumpet and the orchestral string family of Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass Viol, Electric Bass
Mandolin, Guitar, and Keyboards.
With enough interest throughout Branford, I believe having such a program will greatly benefit the arts in our town. I will be applying for grants to fund this non for profit endeavor.
If you are interested, please respond with the following information:
1) Name, age, and contact information
2) Instrument played and years of study
3) If applicable, the instrument you would like to learn
4) A brief background of your musical experiences
5) Interest in forming an administrative board
