Branford School Board Votes To Reduce School Chief's Budget Plan

The budget would still increase spending over the current year's spending plan.

BRANFORD, CT — The Board of Education voted to trim Superintendent of Schools Hamlet Hernandez's budget request for fiscal 2019-20 by $100,000, the New Haven Register reports. The approved budget is for $56.78 million and would represent an approximately 1.75 percent spending hike.

The Board of Finance and RTM still need to approve the spending plan, one the schools chief says maintains current services and even offers some "targeted enhancements," the Register reports.
