CT Coronavirus Updates: Trump Says Military Help Being Sent
The total number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Connecticut reached 5,675 on Sunday and 189 people have died.
CONNECTICUT — President Donald Trump said because there are growing coronavirus hot spots in places including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island, by Tuesday he will send 3,000 military and public health professionals to those areas to help.
Trump didn't provide a breakdown of how many personnel will be sent to each state. Federal and state officials have predicted a surge of virus cases in Connecticut over the next couple of weeks and Gov. Ned Lamont said April is likely to be a "horrible" month.
As Trump spoke about the federal response on Sunday, Lamont and state officials released updated numbers Sunday concerning the coronavirus and its impact on Connecticut.
