UPDATE: Cosgrove Animal Shelter: 4 Newborn Kittens Found In Snow Bank, 2 Frozen, 2 Survived,

Good Samaritan called shelter to report what she'd found and rushed the surviving kittens to Pieper Emergency Hospital in Middletown.

BRANFORD, CT --Update: The animal shelter reports that the two surviving kittens are thriving, thanks to "Chantelle from Pieper Veterinary for fostering these little ones."

"Fostering babies this young and delicate is such a big job," the shelter wrote on Facebook

"And we have to say that Chantelle is amazing at it. These babies are thriving with round-the-clock care. We are so grateful to have such amazing people like Chantelle who help us. It definitely takes a village."

Tuesday, a woman found four newborn kittens in a snowbank. She reached out to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, as she’s a social media follower, to report it.

"Unfortunately, two of them were frozen solid," the shelter said on Facebook. "But two were still clinging on to life."

The kittens were "rushed” to Pieper Emergency Hospital in Middletown to receive critical care, according to shelter staff.

"Pieper helped them through their initial care, with one of their amazing vet techs offering to bottle feed them," the staff shared. "Bottle feeding is literally a 24/7 job when you have such delicate babies."

"We absolutely could not save all the lives we do without people helping us," they noted, referring to the many social media followers who spread the word. "We want to give a great big shout-out to Emily who saved these babies and drove them to the emergency hospital for us."
