Horseshoe Crabs and Project Limulus

Every year from May through July, horseshoe crabs appear on local beaches to spawn. Learn about why your health depends on their survival, their ecological and economic importance, and where horseshoe crabs go when they are not on the beach laying eggs. This ‘living fossil’ has many aspects of its life that are still a mystery. Mark Beekey, Associate Professor of Biology at Sacred Heart University, will present an overview of Project Limulus, a Citizen Science research program.
