Francis Walsh Intermediate School 'Grand Opening' Ceremony Thursday
When Patch first visited the still-under-construction school in March 2020, the coronavirus pandemic lockdown was just days away.

BRANFORD, CT — Just a few days before the coronavirus sent the state into lockdown in March 2020, Patch spent a morning touring Francis Walsh Intermediate School with schools superintendent Hamlet Hernandez, principal Raeanne Reynolds, First Selectman Jamie Cosgrove and others.
At the time, the $88 million Fusco Construction-built school project was in Phase 2 and well underway.

Now, two years later, the official grand opening ceremony for the 185 Damascus Road school is set for Thursday. And the public is invited.
A grand opening ceremony is slated to begin at 4 p.m. with a tour starting at 4:15. Refreshments will be available.
