Free 'Food Box Thursdays' Are Back At Canoe Brook Though Mid-October

Boxes filled with fruits, vegetables, and dairy from local farmers are available one per household on a first-come, first-served basis.

BRANFORD, CT — Boxes filled with fruits, vegetables, and dairy from local farmers are available on a first-come, first-served basis on some Thursdays, now though mid-October at the Canoe Brook Center.

Called 'Food Box Thursdays,' the USDA-supported program works with area growers to provide the free food boxes, one per household.

Food Box Thursdays are Sept. 7, 21, and Oct. 5 and 19.

For Branford residents only, those who wish to receive the food boxes should arrive at the Canoe Brook Center entering on Prospect Street. Once in the lot, pull up to the U-Haul truck, put your car in park and pop the trunk. No need to get out of your vehicle as staff will load the boxes inside. One per household. Then, exit the lot through Church Street.

The Food Box Thursdays are held rain or shine.
