Branford, CT; The team of Independence Solar, LLC and Pat Munger Construction Company, Inc. has installed a PV solar energy system for Burt Process Equipment of Hamden, CT. The 123.5 kW system is designed to satisfy 51% of Burt Process Equipment's power needs. Burt Process Equipment is benefiting from federal tax credits and from Connecticut's ZREC program, which provides renewable energy credits through a 15 year contract with United Illuminating.
Munger considered Burt Process Equipment to be a great candidate for PV solar because of the four year old building's orientation to the sun, energy usage, and the ability to install the system without the need for roof reinforcement or renovation. Munger is accountable for project management, permitting and installation. Munger's partner, Independence Solar, is the project developer with responsibility for electrical system design, financing, material procurement, and will facilitate the relationship with the relevant electrical power company.
"Having earned a trusted position with Burt Process Equipment from a prior major building expansion project, Munger introduced Burt Process Equipment to the potential benefits from investing in a PV Solar system," said David DeMaio, Munger president. "Burt Process Equipment's financial advisor analyzed the financial benefits and proved that it's "not too good to be true".
