Missing Branford Man's Car Found in Meriden, Body Located Inside: UPDATE

UPDATE, 8:30 P.M.: The car belonging to missing Branford, Jason Czech, 39, of 240 Harbor Street, has been found on a Meriden street Friday and a body was found inside of the vehicle, the Meriden Record Journal was first to report Friday evening.

Branford Police Spokesman Capt. Geoffrey Morgan said on Twitter that "Meriden Police have located the car of Jason Czech containing a deceased person. Medical Examiner will have to determine identity."

Czech’s car was found near 71 Mattabasset Drive Friday.

Czech has been missing since last Friday night when family members believed he was headed to a Phish concert in New York. It appears he never left Connecticut family members have told the Record Journal.

Branford, CT — One week ago Jason Czech, 39, of 240 Harbor Street, left his house presumably to attend a Phish concert in Saratoga, New York.

His family hasn't seen him since. He was officially reported missing on the Fourth of July, and there is still no sign of him.

The Meriden-Record Journal reports that Czech's cell phone transmitted from a cell tower in the Meriden/Wallingford area on Monday, July 3. Czech works in the IT department at Bristol Myers-Squibb in Wallingford.

Czech's sister, Amy, told the Record Journal that her brother went to work Friday, then a bar in Hartford until 8 p.m. Friday, and he texted a friend that he ended up not going to the Phish show, and that he planned to remain in Connecticut.

His girlfriend received a text at 8:30 p.m. Friday from him. Since then, no one has heard from him.

Czech also has a secondary address of 9 Country Way, Madison.

Czech is a white male, 39 years old, 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 240 pounds, police said. He has fairly short close-cropped red hair, parted to one side, green eyes and a close-cropped red goatee-style beard.

Czech drives a gray 2003 Honda Accord bearing CT Registration 865-SJE.
