Obituary: Jane Proto, 84, of Branford
An avid bowler who spent many days at Branford Point, she loved travel, casino trips, and was a fan of UConn basketball and the NY Yankees.

Jane Proto of Branford passed away suddenly on Monday November 21, 2022. She was the wife of the late Charles Michaelson and Michael Proto and mother to Lisa Komoroski (David) of Branford, Michael Proto (Deanna) of Whitinsville, MA, and Nils Michaelson (Marybeth) of North Branford. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Nicole Tims (Jeffrey), Amy Peckham (Nicholas), Briana Sabetta (Joseph), Karlie Komoroski (Kaelyn Brennan), Julie Michaelson, Michael Proto, and Lily Proto, and her great grandchildren Matthew and Jenna Gall. She was predeceased by her twin sister Joan Cinque and Ruth Greenwood and her beloved dog Jeter. Jane was born in Worcester, MA on February 6, 1938, and was raised in both Sweden and Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Wendt Anderson.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Jane will be remembered for her humor, strength, and adventurous spirit. Jane lived life to the fullest and enjoyed nothing more than spending quality time with her family, friends, and “grand” dogs. She made many meaningful friendships as an avid bowler and spent summer days at Branford Point. She enjoyed her many trips with the Senior Center and never turned down a trip to the casino. She loved to travel and was a proud fan of UConn Basketball and the NY Yankees. Jane was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all that knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at Tabor Lutheran Church on Saturday December 3rd at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Jane's name to the Canoe Brook Center, 46 Church St., Branford, CT 06405 attn: Dagmar Ridgway, so others can enjoy outings and trips. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. is in care of arrangements.
