• Branford Historical Society Named September Beneficiary of Stop & Shop's Community Bag Program (patch.com) — Branford residents can support the Branford Historical Society all September by buying $2.50 reusable Community Bags at the Stop & Shop on Leetes Island Road, which send $1 per bag to the nonprofit. The funds will help maintain the historic Harrison House Museum and support upcoming fall exhibits and educational programs celebrating Branford's history.
   

• 2026 CIAC field hockey predictions: Picking state champions before the season begins (ctpost.com) — Branford field hockey is picked to repeat as Class M state champion in 2026 after edging New Milford 1–0 for last year's title. With key players like goalie Lilly Panuccio and scorers Jessica Radziunas and Ellie Meyran returning, the team is expected to battle contenders such as Wilton, New Milford, Guilford, Hand, Cheshire, Pomperaug and Simsbury.
