NORTH HAVEN, Conn. – Dec. 8, 2022 – David Eaton, of Branford, Connecticut, a fourth-year student at Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, has been selected to receive a $1,500 scholarship from the Fairfield County Medical Foundation.

The foundation confers three scholarships annually –– one each from the three medical schools in Connecticut. Eaton was chosen by the medical school staff at Quinnipiac to receive the 2022 Lambros E. Siderides, MD Scholarship Award.

"This award is meaningful to me because Dr. Siderides exemplifies the type of physician I aspire to be,” said Eaton, who plans to specialize in critical care anesthesiology. “Dr. Siderides had tremendous compassion for his patients and extensive knowledge of the diseases affecting their lives. I strive to apply these values and qualities as a future ICU physician. I am incredibly grateful to Quinnipiac University for selecting me for this award and supporting me over the past four years toward my goal of becoming a compassionate leader and advocate in the medical community."

The Lambros E. Siderides, M.D. Medical Scholarship Fund was established in 2008 to assist eligible students from Connecticut who are fourth-year medical students at Quinnipiac, Yale and UConn. Students who receive the award should embody the values and qualities that characterized Dr. Siderides: his tremendous compassion and humanity in caring for patients; his encyclopedic knowledge of and interest in pathophysiology; and his enthusiasm in applying this knowledge to manage disease.

“On behalf of the entire QU Netter School of Medicine community, I would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to David Eaton for being awarded the 2022 Lambros E. Siderides MD Scholarship Award,” said Dr. Phil Boiselle, dean of QU Netter. “David clearly embodies the qualities of Dr. Siderides, including his tremendous compassion and humanity in caring for patients. These values are also aligned with our school’s mission of educating and nurturing future generations of diverse, compassionate and humanistic physicians.”
