BRANFORD, CT — Saying Freddy is "in danger because of the stress of the shelter and his condition," Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter staff pray he'll be adopted after nearly a year in the shelter.

Freddy, between five and seven years old, came from a hoarding case that animal control officers assisted with.

It was only very recently discovered that he has a genetic disorder, "which will make him a hospice case," the shelter staff noted.

What Freddy needs and what he doesn't

"Freddy needs to be an only pet and in a quiet household where the adopter doesn’t mind crating him or putting him in another room when visitors come over," staff noted. "And Freddy will not need meds or special foods."
