From The Friends of Outer Island:The Friends of Outer Island wants to support Branford students’ academic goals and commitment to the environment. While attending Walsh Intermediate School students may have participated in a field trip to Outer Island. As a senior currently attending Branford High School, we welcome you to apply for the Addison E. Verrill $ 1,000 scholarship. Addison Emery Verrill, 1st Prof. of Zoology at Yale, built the first house in 1889 on Outer Island; he was Curator of Yale’s Peabody Museum at 25 and often brought students out to the island for marine science studies.
