Social Media Threats Prompt Increased Police Presence In Schools

Threats aimed at Branford schools were deemed not credible, but with social media threats nationwide, schools, cops are taking no chances.

BRANFORD, CT —A TikTok video believed to have been created to "disrupt schools" across the country and reposted to include a threat aimed at Branford High School and Walsh Intermediate School, was found not to be credible, officials said.

"The appropriate authorities were contacted, and upon investigation, it was determined that this post did not require further action," Branford schools Superintendent Hamlet Hernandez said.

But he added that there's an "increased police presence in and around our schools."
