St. Mary School Teacher Honored at Xavier High School by Alumni

Mrs. Mazon attended Xavier High School's Teacher Recognition Breakfast where elementary school teachers were thanked by former students.

Saint Mary School’s 8th grade teacher Mrs. Martha Mazon was honored along with 26 other elementary school teachers at Xavier High School’s 2nd Annual “Teacher Recognition Breakfast” on Thursday, March 15th in Middletown. The breakfast, organized by Mr. Nicholas M. Grasso, Director of Admissions, recognized elementary school teachers for the important academic leadership, spiritual guidance, and nurturing role they play in the formation and foundation of their young students. Mrs. Mazon was nominated by alumni Mark Kowalski and John Ruggiero Jr. to thank her for everything she had done that has influenced their education and their lives. Xavier Students had breakfast with their mentors and gave them a tour of their high school. They were very proud to show off their very impressive new science labs and music rooms & library. They ended the celebration with a service in the Chapel. Anthony Caruso, a junior high student, spoke on behalf of all the students about the impact these teachers have made on him and his fellow students. “Your presence is sufficient to prove that your words, actions, and example truly transform the lives of your students… current and future successes are the fruit of the guidance you offer and lessons you teach each and every day… Continue to train young hearts and minds that they may be formed, by your example, into the leaders and models of our generation.”
