BRANFORD, CT — A dog found in a bin, and tied to a pole in a fast food parking lot, was rushed to a vet hospital in Middletown after it was dropped off at the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter Sunday.

In a Facebook post, the shelter explained:

"Yesterday as we were getting ready to leave the animal shelter to go to our event at Ballous on the Guilford Green people walked in with a dog in this bin stating that she was tied to the pole at McDonald's in Branford.

We reached in to pull the little one out of the bin and realized very quickly that she could not stand or walk. One of our ACOs rushed her to Pieper Memorial Vet Hospital in Middletown, and she is currently under the care of the neurologist.

The reason we hold so many fundraisers is that we literally have no idea what will walk in our doors each day, or what animals will need our help out in the field. This little girl's estimate is between $4000-$5000 to do an MRI, stabilize her, and get her out of pain. She was extremely dehydrated and very uncomfortable.
