Wildly Successful Branford Rotary Restaurant Fundraiser Braffle Is Back With 'Absurd' Prizes,

BRANFORD, CT — After selling out its first five years and raising more than $260,000, the Branford Rotary’s Outrageous Restaurant Raffle, aka Braffle, is back for its sixth year. And it’s as absurd as ever.

Check out the prizes:

·Absurd Grand Prize: $5,500 in gift cards to each of 55 Branford restaurants.

·Ridiculous Second Prize: $2,750 in gift cards to 55 Branford restaurants.

·Somewhat Reasonable 3rd to 10th place prizes: a $100 gift card to the restaurant of your choice.

"As the largest fundraiser for the town, Braffle has quickly become an institution in Branford, and we are grateful and proud that so many people in town and the surrounding area want to help their neighbors in need," Branford Rotary president Tery Elton said. "And hey, they can help themselves, too. $100 gift cards to 55 restaurants? That’s kind of insane."

And the gift cards do not expire.

"Even before I won, I thought Braffle was the greatest thing ever," 2024 Braffle winner Vincent Valentino said. "I still haven’t gotten through all the restaurants. I’ve taken friends out to dinner, and I’ve given some away, but there are so many."

Braffle tickets are $25 each, with the majority of the proceeds going to Branford Counseling & Community Services’ Basic Needs program, which helps families in need with food, rent, and utilities.

In other words, every ticket bought is a win for Branford. But get in early. Braffle’s 2,500 tickets have historically sold out in just weeks.

The Braffle drawing will be held at 6 p.m. on May 20, at James Blackstone Memorial Library in Branford. The drawing will also be live-streamed on Branford Rotary’s Facebook page.

First Selectman Josh Brooks will pull the winning numbers. You don’t have to be present to win.
