1 Injured As 52 Rounds Of Gunfire Reported In Bridgeport: Police

The incident occurred early Monday, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A person was injured early Monday in what Bridgeport police said was a hail of 52 rounds of gunfire in the area of Boston and Asylum avenues.

The incident occurred at about 12:40 a.m., when the department received a ShotSpotter Activation that reported the gunfire. ShotSpotter is a gunfire detection system.

"A victim self-transported to Bridgeport Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound," Shawnna White, the city's public information officer, said in a statement.
