17-Year-Old Injured In Bridgeport Shooting: Police
The incident occurred early Monday, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 17-year-old boy was injured early Monday in a shooting on Helen Street in Bridgeport, police said.
The victim suffered an injury to one of his arms, which police said was not a threat to his life. He was able to walk to Bridgeport Hospital after the incident, which occurred a little before 1 a.m.
According to Bridgeport Police Det. Jeffrey Holtz, the victim said that a person inside a car shot at him.

At roughly the same time, 52 rounds of gunfire were reported near the intersection of Boston Avenue and Pembroke Street.
Police were alerted to the gunfire via a ShotSpotter Activation. ShotSpotter is a gunfire detection system.

Authorities did not disclose whether the two incidents could be related.
