1 Killed, 1 Injured In Sunday Shooting In Bridgeport: Police
The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Fairfield Avenue.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 32-year-old Hartford man was killed, and an 18-year-old Bridgeport man was injured, Sunday in a shooting in the 1700 block of Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport, according to police.
The identity of the Hartford man, who was pronounced dead at the hospital following the 4:55 p.m. shooting, has not been released. The second victim was still in surgery Sunday evening, according to police.
Bridgeport Police responded to reports of two people shot in the area of the Atlas Gas Station, and when officers arrived, they found the two, each suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers and medics began life-saving procedures before transporting the two to area hospitals.

"It is reported that several illegal ATV’s, dirt bikes, and other motorcycles were in the area during the time of the shooting," wrote Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement.
The department's Homicide Squad detectives have taken charge of the investigation, assisted by detectives from the Identification Unit (forensics).

"They are currently in the process of interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence at the crime scene (1700 block of Fairfield Avenue)," Gilleran said. "The Bridgeport Police Department has notified next of kin for the deceased victim. We offer our sincerest condolences to his family and friends."
