BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport resident is $100,000 richer this week after claiming a winning lottery ticket he purchased locally, the Connecticut Lottery announced.

On Monday, Carlos L. claimed a winning CASH5 ticket he bought at Checkers Food Store on North Avenue.

The Connecticut Lottery publishes partial winner information as public record, according to officials.

CASH5 is described as a "pari-mutuel game," in which each wager costs $1.

The top prize is $100,000, and odds of winning vary. For the top prize, a player must match five numbers, for which the odds are 1 in 324,632.
