100s Assemble for Superhero Day at Discovery Museum
Families were able to dress up as their favorite superheroes to celebrate Super Hero Day at the museum.

From Discovery Museum: Today, hundreds of kids and families assembled for Superhero Day at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport, Conn.“It was great to see so many kids, adults, and grandparents come to the museum dressed as their favorite superheroes while interacting with important science-related educational activities,” said Executive Director Bill Finch. “At the Discovery Museum, we’re having fun while teaching kids valuable lessons to help prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow. Today was a great example of exactly that.”Click here for a link to photos and video from today’s event: https://bit.ly/2sRciiJ.Kristin Lawson, a mother of a three-year-old named Maddie, who attended today’s event stated: “The only problem I have with going to the Discovery Museum and attending events like Superhero Day, is that my daughter has a meltdown when we finally have to leave. My daughter especially hates leaving the museum after seeing the Big Bird show in the Henry DuPont III Planetarium.”Today’s event was one of many themed events that The Discovery Museum holds regularly.
And, the $1 off for kids and families who came to the Museum wearing costumes provides a major benefit to the community as a whole.“Honestly, science is just so much fun,” said Business Operations Director Erika Eng who, for Superhero Day dressed, like Poison Ivy (proper name is Toxicodendron).“What could be better for the kids than to learn the science behind Spiderman or Wonder Woman? Is it possible? As a mom of two young scientists, the Discovery Museum is our favorite place to take them. I may be a bit biased, but what a great day! We hope more and more people come to visit on days like today.”Eng also noted that in addition to themed events that take place regularly at the Museum, summer programs provide kids with an opportunity to continue learning in a fun environment during their school break while providing parents with a safe and educational environment for their kids during work hours.“Don’t forget about our summer programs! We have full and extended day options for all ages K-9, and there are still some spots left,” added Eng.For more information about summer programs at The Discovery Museum, click here:http://discoverymuseum.org/product-category/summer-programs/.
