17-Year-Old Bridgeport Resident Killed In Trumbull Crash: Police

The one-vehicle crash occurred Wednesday morning on Old Town Road in Trumbull.

TRUMBULL, CT — A 17-year-old Bridgeport resident was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Trumbull early Wednesday, which led to the closure of Old Town Road near Quarry Road for several hours while police investigated.

The identity of the teen was not disclosed, pending notification to his family, but Trumbull police said he was the driver and only occupant in the vehicle when it crashed about 12:30 a.m.

"Arriving Trumbull officers began rendering medical aid to him," police said of the victim. "Nelson Ambulance arrived and assisted with treating the victim before transporting him to Bridgeport Hospital where he later died from his injuries."

According to police, the teen's vehicle was traveling west on Old Town Road when it struck a guard rail and bridge abutment near White Plains Road before eventually coming to a stop near Quarry Road.

"The accident scene spanned the entire block of Old Town Road," police said. "The Trumbull and Monroe Police Department's Traffic Divisions are currently investigating this incident."

The Trumbull Center Fire Department also responded and assisted with securing the scene.

Old Town Road was closed for several hours during the investigation, but it has since been reopened.
