17-Year-Old Struck, Critically Injured By Car In Bridgeport: Police

The crash occurred Saturday evening near the intersection of Fairfield and Clinton avenues in Bridgeport, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 17-year-old Bridgeport boy was listed in critical but stable condition at Bridgeport Hospital, after he was struck by a car over the weekend, according to Bridgeport police.

The crash occurred at about 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of Fairfield and Clinton avenues in Bridgeport, and no other injuries were reported.

According to Bridgeport Police Sgt. Darryl Wilson, the teen was struck by a gray, 2012 Honda Accord, driven by a 22-year-old Bridgeport man, with an 18-year-old Bridgeport man in the passenger seat.

The Honda was traveling west on Fairfield Avenue when it struck the teen, who was crossing the street near Clinton Avenue, according to a preliminary investigation cited by Wilson. The investigation is being conducted by the Bridgeport Police Traffic Division, the Bridgeport Serious Crash Team, and the Southern Fairfield County Traffic Unit.
