18-Year-Old Fatally Shot In Bridgeport: Police
The victim was found in a car Monday evening on Catherine Street, authorities said.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old Bridgeport man, who was found Monday evening with a gunshot wound inside a car in The Hollow, a Bridgeport neighborhood.
Police said dispatchers received multiple 911 calls at about 6:45 p.m. reporting gunfire and a man bleeding inside a car on Catherine Street.
Responding officers found Leon Richardson in the driver's seat of a Honda with a head wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The case marks Bridgeport's fifth homicide of 2026, according to authorities.
The shooting occurred on Catherine Street between Washington and Harral avenues. Catherine Street remained closed for several hours while the department's Major Crimes Unit processed the scene.

Detectives continued investigating overnight by conducting interviews and reviewing surveillance video, according to police.
