2 Bridgeport Nursing Homes Fined By State: Report
The organizations were among more than a half-dozen nursing homes fined by state officials recently for lapses in care and other concerns.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two Bridgeport nursing homes were fined by the state recently following lapses in care, reports Connecticut Health I-Team, two of seven nursing homes in Connecticut to receive fines for such incidents and other concerns.
Bridgeport Health Care Center was fined $3,000 after allowing a protected dementia patient to wonder out of the facility last summer. Additionally, nearby Bridgeport Manor, which is owned by the same company as Bridgeport Health Care Center, was fined $1,950 after a patient was injured in a fall from a lift last summer, writes author Cara Rosner.
The fines were issued by the state Department of Public Health (DPH), which monitors the state's nursing homes to ensure the safety of residents. Corrective measures reportedly have since been undertaken at both facilities.
