2 Injured In Bridgeport Shooting: Police

The shootings occurred early Wednesday on Grant Street.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two people were shot and injured early Wednesday on Grant Street in Bridgeport, according to police. How the shootings are connected was not disclosed.

Bridgeport police learned of one of the shootings at about 12:35 a.m. from a ShotSpotter activation and several calls about a person being shot.

"Multiple units arrived on-scene and located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg, arm and abdomen," said Scott Appleby, director of the city's Office of Emergency Management. "The victim was alert and responsive and was transported to the hospital by the medics."

Soon after, Bridgeport Hospital notified police that the second shooting victim walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound.

The shootings are under investigation, and the conditions of both victims were not disclosed.
