2 Killed In Shooting At Former Bridgeport Sports Bar

Two people were killed and two others injured in an early Sunday shooting.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Police are investigating a double fatal shooting at the former Mango'z Sports Bar that occurred early Sunday morning, according to WTNH. Officers arrived at the 456 Connecticut Ave. location at 1 a.m.

Four people were shot in the incident. Police arrived to find an uncooperative crowd and called on Stratford and state police to assist with crowd control, according to WTNH.

The two victims killed were Jaheim Warren, 19, of Derby, and Andrew Stephenson, 24, of Bridgeport. A 26-year-old man sustained serious injuries but is expected to live, and a 21-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries, The Connecticut Post reported.

Police said the incident appears to be part of an ongoing dispute.

The location is the former Mango'z Sports Bar does not have a valid license to sell alcohol or operate as a bar. Police said that there has been a recurring problem with people using the space as a private club and bringing their own liquor, according to The Connecticut Post.
