2 Killed In Shooting At Home In Bridgeport: Police

Police said officers were shot at while they were approaching the home. The suspect is in custody.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two people were killed in a shooting at a home in Bridgeport early Thursday morning, according to multiple reports.

The Connecticut Post reports the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Platt Street. Police said officers were fired at as they approached the home, according to the Post.

The suspect, 25-year-old Tarik Francis, surrendered to police shortly after investigators arrived at the scene, according to News12 Connecticut.

News12 Connecticut reports Francis was charged with murder and other charges and is being held in lieu of a $5 million bond.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident where the victims knew the suspect, according to the Post.
