2 People Shot At Apartment Complex In Bridgeport; Police Investigating

The shootings occurred Friday night at the Charles F. Greene Homes housing complex.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two people suffered gunshot wounds late Friday in a shooting in Building 4 at the Charles F. Greene Homes housing complex in Bridgeport, according to police.

One victim, a 22-year-old, suffered gunshot wounds in both legs, and the other, a 23-year-old, suffered a gunshot wound to one of his feet. The injuries are not considered to be a threat to life, and both victims were listed in stable condition at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

Bridgeport police were alerted to the shootings at the housing complex at about 11:55 p.m. via a ShotSpotter activation. According to Bridgeport police, ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system that alerts police within one minute of where gunshots were fired.

Both victims got to the hospital on their own, and police found a crime scene at an apartment in Building 4.

"The Bridgeport Police Department Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the investigation," said Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement. "General Investigation (GI) Detectives conducted interviews and collected evidence at the crime scene."
