2-Year-Old Child Struck By Vehicle In Bridgeport: Police
The incident occurred on Sunday evening at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Barnum Avenue.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 2-year-old child was injured Sunday evening when the child was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Barnum Avenue in Bridgeport, according to police.
The extent of the child's injuries was not known, but "preliminary reports indicate they were minor," said Scott Appleby, director of the city's Office of Emergency Management.
According to Appleby, the incident occurred at about 6:50 p.m., and it remains under investigation by Bridgeport police.

"Preliminary on-scene reports indicate that a child ran into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle, which remained on-scene," Appleby said. "The child was transported to the hospital by [American Medical Response]."
