Teen Killed In Rt. 8 Crash Identified, 2 Others Seriously Injured
The accident occurred Thursday night in Bridgeport as police were in pursuit of the vehicle.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — State Police on Friday released more details concerning the fatal crash that occurred on Route 8 Thursday evening. Bridgeport Police were pursuing the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Corbin Cooper, 18, of Trumbull Avenue, a passenger, was killed in the accident, State Police said. Luke Jones, 18, of Anthony Street in Bridgeport and another 17-year-old Bridgeport teen were seriously injured in the crash, State Police said. A 16-year-old Bridgeport teen, who was the driver, suffered a minor injury in the accident.
State Police said at 6:18 p.m. a 2016 Toyota 4Runner was traveling on Route 8 northbound, north of the Route 25 split in Bridgeport. The 16-year-old driver veered to the left and drove into the median and then overcorrected to the right, and then moved over into the left lane, right lane and right shoulder, State Police said.

The vehicle then crashed into a metal beam guardrail that bordered the right shoulder, State Police said. Upon impact with the metal beam guardrail, the vehicle traveled over the guardrail and went airborne into the wooded roadside, State Police said. The vehicle then crashed into two trees and overturned.
Bridgeport Police were in pursuit of the vehicle in connection to an armed robbery that had occurred on McKinley Avenue earlier Thursday, WFSB 3 TV reports.

State Police are investigating the accident.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — One person is dead and two others seriously injured in a Route 8 accident, according to State Police and media reports. Bridgeport Police were in pursuit of the vehicle prior to the crash, State Police said.
An 18-year-old has died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, NBC CT reports.
At 6:16 p.m. Thursday State Police responded to Route 8 northbound in the area of exit 5 in Bridgeport after one vehicle rolled over down the embankment. People were ejected and also trapped inside the vehicle.
The three occupants were transported to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries. The fourth occupant was uninjured.
State Police are investigating.
