3-Year-Old & 17-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Bridgeport Scooter Crash
The standup scooter the two were on was struck by a vehicle Friday, according to police.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two victims, a 17-year-old and a 3-year-old, were seriously injured Friday when the standup scooter they were riding was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Washington and Housatonic avenues in Bridgeport, according to Bridgeport police.
As of Tuesday morning, the two were being treated for serious injuries at Yale New Haven Hospital, said Scott Appleby, Bridgeport's director of the Office of Emergency Management.
The crash occurred at about 4:15 p.m., and the vehicle that struck the scooter remained at the scene. Members of the Bridgeport police, fire department and American Medical Response responded to the scene.

"This remains an active investigation at this time," Appleby said. "The City of Bridgeport First Responders sends out our thoughts and prayers for all involved."
